Save some cash on cable
So, for the past few months I've been watching the SciFi channel. Let me tell you that most of SciFi's programming is TERRIBLE... like amazingly bad. But I like to have it on as background noise while I paint because it is unlikely to grab my attention and pull me away from what I'm doing. It actually astounds me that SciFi can show such god-awful programming when it also has shows like Ghost Hunters and Battlestar Galactica as well as meni-series like Tin Man which are all decent shows (Battlestar Galactica is among the best television shows of all time).

Anyway... Direct TV and Comcast TV are in an advertising war and, quite honestly, Direct TV's commercials are hilarious and effective depicting this incompetent businessman leading a board meeting for Comcast. You'd have to see the commercials to understand but I love them. I decided to look into and compare the things that Direct TV and Comcast offers and found a couple of things.
My Comcast bill was about $100 a month because I got basic Cable service and internet (which I use FAR more than my TV). Because I have my internet bundled with my cable I get a discount on my internet connection. However, I found that if I stayed with Comcast for my internet (Direct TV's internet is not high quality and incredibly expensive. Not worth it in my opinion) but switched over to Direct TV for my television, I could get about 10-times as much programming for the same price.
So, I called up Direct TV, made the deal and then called Comcast to drop television service.
But hold the phone! I get directed to the customer loyalty department and they guy there is like; "What do you get with Direct TV? Wow, that's a lot of channels. How about I give you all those channels for $10 cheaper than what you would be paying if you went with Direct TV?" I thought to myself; sounds good. I'll stick with Comcast, reduce my bill and increase the shows I get. Good deal.

But then I thought to myself... how come I didn't just get the lower price the whole time? It's because Comcast has a price then it has a SECOND price for people who may not want to continue the service... me.
So, if you want to save money on Comcast cable, call them up and tell them you're going with Direct TV. The Customer loyalty representative will shave your bill down while offering you a bunch more channels. For the record, immediately afterward I pulled the same thing with Direct TV and they offered be some stuff but it wasn't as good as what Comcast offered.
So, I'm stickin with Comcast... for now. I like your commercials Direct TV... just cut me a deal (preferably with internet) and I'm on board.
