Eye of the Storm

 

This past weekend was Eye of the Storm Honor weekend. I was extremely excited to have a chance to really do a lot of EotS... when I get done with this blog I'm going to go play some more.

Up until this point I haven't had much of a chance to play. EotS isn't as popular in the 60-69 bracket and the Alliance doesn't like to queue up on the Vindication battlegroup unless it's honor weekend. Now, I've voiced my opinion on how badly Horde sucks at AV on Vindication but we totally make up for it in EotS (and every other battleground if I do say so myself).

What I find amazing is how severely Horde dominates the Alliance in EotS. In over 20 games I think I've lost 4. When we lose I know exactly why we lose... we lose because we allow the flag to take priority over the nodes. When that happens, rare as it may be, we get rolled badly. The Alliance prioritizes the flag CONSTANTLY.

Isn't it natural to see something that isn't working and take steps to change it? Isn't that what people do? How can the alliance consistently make mistake after mistake after mistake and continue to repeat the SAME strategy that causes them to lose?

I will say, being level 66 I hold my own fairly well. I often have the highest number of Honorable Kills because I know how to survive. I ALSO have the distinction of usually having near highest damage done and usually highest number of deaths... People gun for me and I love it. I am so annoying to the other team that mobs of 3 or 4 people will form and actively seek me out... that's fine with me because if you wanna take 3 or 4 people and go after one guy than that means you're short handed elsewhere.

I think a hunter's roll in Battlegrounds is to be annoying. Warlocks, Mages, and Rogues job is to kill people. When I see a mage casting, about to unleash massive devistation upon one of my team mates I switch from the target I'm DPSing and slap a silencing shot on that mage. If I see a rogue or warrior glued to one of my teammates like white on rice I switch from my target and slap a scattershot on the fucker. If I see a healer healing I send my pet. Its these sort of things that disrupt an attack so severely that it falls appart... hell... if I see an Alliance healer really doing his part to keep his team up and fighting I'll run into the opposing line, lay a freezing trap at his feet, and use aspect of the monkey + deterrence to get back out.

 

 

Yeah, I like to 1v1 a 69 rogue or paladin and laugh because I know that they know that they were just beaten by a 66 hunter... but it's a team game, not a dual. If I'm guarding a node and you come to me 1v1... you lose (unless you're a Warlock... fucking bastards own me like the Steers owns San Francisco today)... But I prefer to roll with a group of 2 or 3 other Horde. Let my team mates do the killing... I do the crippling... and I'll take the honor and tokens as my prize.
