At roughly 1:00 am on Friday, September 21st a male and female were shot at Delaware State University. The status of the situation on campus can be accessed at The Delaware State University Website.
At the moment police are in the process of developing leads but the perpetrator of the attack is still at large. Unfortunately they have yet to interview the victims due to the condition of their wounds.
1,700 students at Delaware State are confined to their dormitories until further notice. This action is a result of a study on the Virginia Tech Institute’s handling of the Seung-Hui Cho shooting spree which resulted in 32 deaths and 17 wounded students and staff. The study suggested that taking such action likely would have reduced the number of students and staff injured and killed.
As of 10:20 am EST I feel it is too early to speculate or form an opinion about the incident. More information will become available throughout the day.
